When you do easy things, life becomes hard; when you do hard things, life becomes easy.  -Victor Lofinmakin

Yesterday, I had the honor of speaking in front of an audience at Destiny Star International Church on “Attaining Financial Success” and “Overcoming The Abnormal Fear Of Failure”.

As I pontificated on the efficacy of my speech afterwards like I normally do, I realized that most people are still afraid to take the leap to success because they don’t want to struggle.  Most of us have a comfortable, middle class life and the thought of going through discomfort or struggle is more daunting than the rewards of success.

However, the only constant recipe in the path to success is struggle.  Without struggle, there can be no progress; without struggle, there can be no freedom; without struggle, there can be no success.

If you want to succeed, you have to seek struggle.  There is a famous saying that we use in the US Military that goes “Embrace The Suck”, which means that our lives as soldiers is painful, we have to embrace the pain.  Embracing and seeking out the pain is the only thing that will make us better, stronger, faster, and successful.

Shying away from the pain and seeking comfort will only make us weaker and unsuccessful.  If you lay in bed all day, you cannot make progress, however if you get up and take action, then you make progress.

Take for instance, Steve Jobs, while building Apple Computers, he risked it all…struggled so much so that he had to sell recycle cans in order to buy food and slept on the floor of his friend’s room for shelter.  Ultimately he succeeded.  There are uncountable examples like this.  When you take a chance in life and decide to struggle for what you want, you will always succeed.  Your fear never materializes.

For those seeking to be successful at anything in life, you have to take action today.  Make the bold decision, embrace the struggle, embrace the pain.  If it is not painful, then you are not growing.  If you are not struggling, then you are making no progress.

Sincerely,
